Mini dental implants are just what they sound like - smaller versions of traditional dental implants. Dr. David Nguyen and the Dental Care Today of Richardson team recommend mini implants for patients:
The mini dental implant process is very similar to traditional dental implant restoration, but in most cases, patients are able to receive a temporary tooth replacement on the same day the implant is placed. Additionally, mini dental implants fuse to the gum and jawbone much more quickly than traditional implant posts, so patients will be able to receive their final restoration more quickly. Once the mini implant posts are in place, patients will typically achieve complete fusion in one to three months.
